A student at the controls in the cockpit

HeliSchool

Now you are the pilot

Take the controls and spend a day as a helicopter pilot – with an instructor guiding you.

Instructor and student checking the helicopter before the flight

Helicopter pilot for a day

The first lesson towards a licence

The experience takes about 2 hours. We start with 30 minutes of theory, a walk-round of the helicopter and its basic principles, and the preflight. Then YOU fly for 20–30 minutes with an experienced instructor, and we finish with a debrief. There are 2 students per flight in the R44, so you also ride along on the other student’s turn.

Become a helicopter pilot

From student to pilot at HeliCompany

For a private licence, PPL(H), you study theory and fly lessons side by side – in 6 months to 2 years, depending on your effort. Afterwards you can rent helicopters from Roskilde, Randers and Kolding. For a commercial licence, CPL(H), you first build hours; you can fly hours on our helicopters and work as ground crew while you train. HeliSchool students are guaranteed their first job. Training is self-funded.

HeliCompany runs its own school, HeliSchool. You start with a trial lesson – helicopter pilot for a day – which is the first lesson towards a private pilot licence.

A private helicopter licence, to fly friends and family, costs about DKK 300,000. To fly helicopters for a living, expect DKK 1,000,000–1,200,000.

The type we fly, the Robinson 44, costs around DKK 7,000,000 new.
